About Dr. Bojana Ginn

Bojana Ginn is an award winning multimedia artist, educator, public speaker and a former MD. Merging art, science, and technology, Bojana creates large site-specific installations, sculpture and photography.

Ginn graduated from Medical School in Belgrade, Serbia in 2001, and completed her MFA in Sculpture at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in 2013. One of her first student works resonated with the international SciArt community and was presented at the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium in Brussels, and also in Ghent, Boston, and Baltimore. While at SCAD, Bojana was nominated for the Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant and for the Outstanding Achievement Award, International Sculpture Center. After completing her studies, as a resident artist of the prestigious Studio Residency at The Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, Bojana was awarded a 2014 Tanne Foundation Award.

Bojana was honored to be an artist in residence for the 2015 Global Summit on Ethics in Bio-Engineering. For her trans-disciplinary work, unorthodox use of materials, and incorporation of video and sound digital technology, Bojana was a finalist for the 2015 World Technology Award in Art. Her work and writings are shown and published in Atlanta, nationally, and in Europe. Her video work was exhibited at the 2016 Venice Architectural Biennale.

In 2018, Ginn was awarded Ellsworth Kelly Award, alongside Mary S. Bird Gallery. Established in 2016 by The Foundation For Contemporary Arts, the Kelly Award is a $40,000 grant to support a solo exhibition of a contemporary visual artist at a U.S. art museum or university or college art gallery.

Her site specific bio-fiber and light installation was installed at The Museum of Art and Design in New York, as part of a national Burke Prize award exhibition. The exhibition was on view from autumn 2019 to spring 2020.

Bojana Ginn taught courses, gave lectures and talks in university settings at GA State University, GA Institute of Technology, Kennesaw State University, and Towson University.
